Provide computer training  and direct marketing assistance to several contractors in the local area.  In addition, provide marketing services and project management for several computer solutions companies.  Services include networking, database administration, web-based technologies, and internet/intranet services for corporate clients. 

 

COMCON, INC.

 

Vice-President  (1996- 1999)

Marketing and Operations management of a $5 Million General Contractor specializing in municipal and private sector building projects. Coordination of the construction process from project identification to job completion including marketing, contract negotiations and project management.  Supervision of 17 employees including project managers, field personnel, and office staff.       

 

GILBANE BUILDING COMPANY

 

Business Development Manager (1995-1996)

Responsible for business development of market sectors including education, retail, and private development for the mid-Atlantic regional office of a $1.4 Billion CM firm.   Specific duties included project identification, pre-qualification requirements, proposal writing, presentations (including staff selection and approach); and contract negotiations.

 

ARMADA/HOFFLER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY:

 

General Manager GSHH Construction (1995)

Management of operations and personnel for GSHH Construction, a subsidiary of Armada/Hoffler Construction Co., with annual revenues of $7 Million.  Complete P&L responsibility for two offices located in Richmond, and Chesapeake, VA.  Supervised 21 employees including project managers, estimators and office staff.   Successfully completed over 70 individual projects ranging in size from  $50,000 to over $1.2 Million.

 

Director of Business Development (1993-1995)

Marketing/management position responsible for generating sales and maintaining client relations for $140 Million Construction Management/General Contractor.  Specific duties included the development and delivery of sales presentations; correspondence and communication with existing and prospective clients; production of qualification packages, and the securing of bid opportunities.

Project Engineer (1992-1993)

Provided management support for several key projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. Duties included review of shop drawings, and submittals; production of coordination drawings; and resolution of field related problems.  Projects include Correctional Institutions, Retail, Office, and Health Care.

 

Assistant Superintendent (1989-1992)

Overall management of subcontractors and contracts administration on various types of projects including retail, health care and office/warehouse buildings.  Specific projects include Wal-Mart, Crossways Shopping Center, St. Francis Nursing Home, and numerous office build-outs; totaling over 125,000 Square Feet.

 

 

SERROT CORPORATION:

 

Engineering/Sales (1988-1989)

Responsible for the initiation and operation of new regional sales office in Aurora, CO.  Duties included sales of protective lining systems and their installations in the nine-state territory.  Provided new contacts and job leads for future business in excess of $10.5 Million.

 

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE:

 

First Lieutenant Minuteman III ICBM Combat Crew Commander (1985-1988)

Directly responsible to the Commander in Chief Strategic Air Command and the National Command Authorities for the positive control and execution of fifty Minuteman III ICBM's.  Supervised nine Air Force personnel and assured the operational readiness of a launch control facility valued at $170 million. Top Secret SIOP ESI level clearance
